Over the last year, our poker community has been very vocal about bots on WPN. As the CEO, I didn’t handle this well. I let personal feelings get in the way of what the business should have been doing.

I apologize for not handling that better, and it won’t happen again.

Over the past year, we’ve banned bots and refunded players, we’ve banned bots and not refunded players, and everything in between.

Here’s where we are now. In players’ minds, unregulated equates to unsafe. I’m here to change that.

I’m not going to ask you to trust me. WPN is now committing to transparent verifiable gaming policies.

What does this mean for you?

• Over the past few days we’ve banned bots and refunded over $200,000. We know this is only a beginning. On our website, we’ve posted the screen names of both the bots and the affected players as well as how much each player has been refunded.  This is transparent.  This is verifiable.

• Now players have asked us to reconsider how we distribute the funds. We’re going to facilitate these conversations starting Thursday on Twitch.

Today, our security team banned 8 more confirmed bots on the network. Refunds to affected players will take place on Friday, April 26th after working with customers to determine the distribution method.

This is the start of the Winning Poker Network enforcing transparent, verifiable policies. Stay tuned, because this is the first policy among many.

I’m not asking for customers here. I’m asking you, the poker community, to help us become the poker site that you feel safe playing on.
